What is a citation style?

A citation style is a standardised way of citing materials used in your research that will help you to avoid plagiarism. Ask your lecturer if you are unsure which style to use.

APA Style

Chicago (Author-Date)
An author-date style, with in-text citations and a reference list (in alphabetical order). The style is widely used in the Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities.
Harvard
An author-date style, with in-text citations and a reference list (in alphabetical order). The style is widely used, but with a number of variations.
Vancouver
Online edition of the American Medical Association Manual of Style.
