About the University of Otago Library

Your Student ID is also your Library Card
Use your current student ID to borrow from the Library collections and to use the print, copy or scan facilities.

Borrowing and Renewing Library Books
You can borrow up to 100 items for up to 12 weeks (for standard loan books). Some books are restricted to 7 day, 3 day or 2 hour loan - these details are will be outlined in Library Search (the Library Search system).

Once you have found the information for a book in Library Search | Ketu, how do you find it on the Library shelves?
Borrow books using our Self-checkout Machines
Machines like this are available in all the Uni Libraries and you'll need your student ID card to use them.
If you've borrowed a book from a Reserve collection (2 hour loan), remember to use this machine in the Reserve collection to return the book too.

Group Study Rooms in the Libraries

All the University of Otago Libraries have group study rooms that you can book online with your student sign in. Instructions are available here and you can book online here.

You can book them up to 7 days in advance and for 3 hours at a time.
Log in to the Resource Booker system with your student email and password.
