Information including links to resources and services to support your studies

LIBRARY LOCATIONS AND HOURS

You are welcome to use any of the 6 libraries on campus:
Robertson Library

  • Central Library (Commerce and Humanities)
  • Hocken Collections (New Zealand)
  • Law Library
  • Health Sciences Library
  • Robertson Library (Education)
  • Science Library
The libraries are located across the campus.

Check the open hours of each library.

RESERVE

Reserve provides access to items in high demand, such as your textbooks. Every Library has its own Reserve collection.  Items on Reserve are issued for up to 2 hours at a time.

 

To search for items on Reserve:

  1. Click Reserve (this link is on the Library homepage)
  2. Enter your course code
  3. Click Search

 

If the item on Reserve for your course is in:

Hardcopy format (e.g. a physical book), click 'Available in the Library' to see which Library holds it and the call number (call number = the code on the spine of the book that is used to locate it on the shelf).

Electronic format (e.g. an e-book), click 'Available Online' to link to the item.

 

If your lecturer has assigned articles for you to read, links to these can be found in Blackboard.

ID CARD

In the Library your ID card is needed to:

  • check out or renew books
  • hold funds to pay for printing / photocopying

You need your username (printed on your ID card) and your password to:

  • access some electronic resources e.g. eBooks
  • access databases off-campus
  • book group study rooms
  • access your Library account so you can renew books, make and cancel requests
  • log in to the Interloan service

MY ACCOUNT

My Account is part of the Library Search | Ketu


Log in to 'My Account' with your username and password to see:

  • which items you have checked out
  • when items are due to be returned
  • what overdue fines you have
  • if you have any blocks on your record, e.g. owe more than $5 in fines

When you are logged into 'My Account', you can renew items you have out. 

GROUP STUDY ROOMS

Group study rooms are available in the libraries on the Dunedin campus. 

 
All the rooms are:
  • wireless 
  • booked for 1 or 2 or 3 hours
  • have either a whiteboard or a smartboard
