Setting up an email AutoAlert in Ovid

Login using your Ovid username and password.


Create a search

Carry out a search in an Ovid database.

If you get too many or too few results with your search you may need to try different search strategies so that you are setting up a search that will provide you with only the articles you want.

Your alert will run off the last line of your search.

Click Save Search History.

Last line of search and "Save Search History" highlighted.

Select AutoAlert (SDI) for the Type.

"AutoAlert (SDI)" highlighted.

This screen will appear:

"Search Name", "Save button", "Scheduling Options" highlighted.
  • Name your search.
  • Choose the options that suit you. Usually the default options are the best.
  • Choose how frequently you want the alert sent.

Click Save.

Note: Your alert will be saved in the same place as your saved searches.
