Research Publishing & Impact: Brill

Brill: Read and Publish Agreement

Founded in 1683, Brill is a leading international academic publisher with a rich history and a strong international focus. Brill publishes a wide range of high-quality and professionally relevant literature to academic and research institutions in the areas of the humanities, social sciences, international law and selected areas in the sciences. Brill is headquartered in Leiden, The Netherlands.

The Read & Publish agreement enables authors from participating institutions to publish an uncapped number of accepted research and review open access articles into any journals from the Brill Online Journal Collection that their institution subscribes to, without any article processing charges (APCs).

This agreement allows authors from participating institutions to publish in 93 of Brills' journals without the need for any transactional open access article processing charge (APC).

This is an uncapped agreement. There is no limit on the number of articles that can be published OA under this agreement.

Hybrid journals that 'flip' to OA during the course of this agreement will remain available for OA publishing for the duration of the agreement.
