Ngā kaupapa hou | New terms

Ngā Ūpoko Tukutuku are growing all the time with new headings added on a regular basis by Te Whakakaokao | Ngā Upoko Tukutuku Reo Māori Working Group. Visit Te Puna Mātauranga o Aotearoa | The National Library of New Zealand's website for the latest terms added to Ngā Upoko Tukutuku.

Terms suggested by the University of Otago library staff

• Police dog
• Guide dogs
• Bone needles 

Kurī ārahi (guide dogs) and Kurī Pirihimana (police dogs) have been accepted as new terms and their inclusion on the list.  Patui (bone needles) has also been accepted as a term.

Ngā Upoko Tukutuku: Weaving Te Ao Māori and the cataloguing world to provide better access to resources for Māori

The list was originally developed to help cataloguers and descriptive archivists describe Māori materials linking students, researchers and communities to taonga / taoka using a Māori world view familiar to them.
