This online resource provides access to data from scientific collections of plant and fungi specimens in New Zealand herbaria. It enables you to verify the geographic distribution of plants and fungi throughout New Zealand. The NZVH is a collaborative project involving 11 herbaria in New Zealand, developed under the auspices of the New Zealand National Herbarium Network, with financial assistance from TFBIS.
The NZPCN is a non-governmental organisation devoted solely to protecting the indigenous flora. It seeks to ensure that 'no indigenous species of plant will become extinct nor be placed at risk of extinction as a result of human action or indifference, and that the rich, diverse and unique plant life of New Zealand will be recognised, cherished and restored'.
