Managing Your Research Data: Home

University of Otago Research Data Management Module

Keen to get your head around research data management but not sure where to start?

Feeling like the existing guidelines and policies at Otago are difficult to find?

Our Research Data Management Module is designed just for you!

This module introduces you to concepts and skills around research data management. It is split into three main sections that move from the basics to more advanced topics. There is no generic waffle here: you will find heaps of practical tips, resources and real examples that actually relate to your study and research at Otago. The language is clear and easy to follow. It is way more engaging than dry guidelines and policy documents, with interactive content to keep things moving.

Go on, give it a try! Click on the image below to start the module.

The module was created with Articulate Rise 360 by the Library Research Services Unit.

Note: There are no quizzes or mandatory lessons: you can dip in and out of any lesson you like. No login is required to access the module, which means the module will NOT save or track your learning progress after you close your browser.
Each SECTION is designed to take approximately 40 to 60 minutes to complete, assuming you read through the lessons in order and carefully, and explore a few links quickly in Resources. The module is fully flexible, so you are encouraged to follow a learning path that suits your needs. There is no required order for completing the lessons.
