Special Features

The Clinical Queries tool uses filters to offer you evidence in three broad categories:

  1. Clinical Study Categories
  2. Systematic Reviews
  3. Medical Genetics

The Clinical Study Categories are:

  • Etiology
  • Diagnosis
  • Therapy
  • Prognosis
  • Clinical Prediction Guides

And you can choose:

  • Narrow (specific or high-precision)
  • Broad (sensitive or high-recall)
PubMed - Clinical queries example
  1. Enter your search terms in the search box.
  2. Click Search.
  3. Select a Category: Therapy, Diagnosis, Etiology, Prognosis, or Clinical Prediction Guides.
  4. Select a Scope: Narrow (specific search) or Broad (sensitive search).
  5. Preview results in the Clinical Study Categories column.
  6. To view the results in PubMed, click the "See all" link below the results preview. Once you are back in PubMed you will be able to Save, Email and Send your results.

  • You have part of an article and need the full citation?
  • You want a quick way to find what an author has published in a certain year?

To find or confirm full citation details:

  1. Select Single Citation Matcher.

  2. Enter the details you know into the form and click the Search button: PubMed will retrieve a list of the articles that match the entered details.
