Religion: Books

How do I find Religion books?

Many books for Religion begin with the call numbers BI to BX and are shelved on the first floor of the Central Library.  Many more books with related and/or specific topics can be found throughout the Library's collections.  Find them by searching Library Search | Ketu and/or check out the resources below.

The Home Delivery Service is available to post out books to Distance students - this is a free service in NZ.

Use the Virtual Bookshelf to virtually browse for books across a specific subject area.

EXCITING NEW COLLECTION

Since 2022, the library has been privileged to host the Kitsiri Malalgoda collection, an archive of nearly 700 books in English and Sinhala oriented around Buddhism and Sri Lankan history. The books represent the generosity of the late Professor Kitsiri Malalgoda from the University of Auckland who was a leading figure in the study of Buddhism in Sri Lanka. This has now been catalogued, and has been shelved according to LC classification, rather than as one physical group. A full list of items is, however, available from this link, and books from the collection will appear in relevant search results.

  • Overseas loans (not available in NZ or Australia) are $25. This can be charged to a department, research grant or paid for personally. We will check with you first before sourcing an overseas item.
