Oral Health: Placement Students

Support available for Distance Students

Support for Distance Students:

  • Any student studying a Distance paper through the University of Otago is eligible to use our free Services for Distance Students
  • We will scan a book chapter or journal article and supply it to you via email within 48 hours
  • Books are sent via courier and we include a freepost label so there will be no charge for return postage
  • We will email and let you know if there is going to be a delay
  • Update your semester address in eVision if you need to - this is where your items will be sent to.
  • Check the helpful videos for getting books for home delivery or partial scan, and requesting a print journal or an article scan.

Students on Placement

Students who are enrolled in an on-campus paper but go out of Dunedin on placement can use the distance service.

Ensure you have updated your eVision Semester Address to your placement address so the Library can courier materials to you.

Use Library Search to Request a book. Sign In then choose your pick-up location:

  • Choose Home Delivery.
  • If you don't see Home Delivery, select the library for your campus (e.g 'Wellington Medical' or 'Central') and type 'please deliver to' and your delivery address into the Comments box.

The FIRST time you place a request, please ALSO use the Comments box to alert Distance staff that you are on placement.

Chapter and article scans will be emailed to your @student.otago.ac.nz address.
