Reference managers (also known as citation managers or bibliographic management software) provide many useful features to help you with your research. 

The University of Otago has licensed access to: EndNote and EndNote Online.  This guide provides information on these and other commonly used reference managers.

What is a Reference Manager?

In general all good reference managers:

  • Store and organise your references
  • Generate citations and bibliographies in the style you prefer
